Come Undone

Feeding from her sun-drenched fingers
Tingling heat kisses my spine
Heart strings strum, I come undone

— Dean Bowman

About this Work

Author's Note: This piece departs from my more philosophical work, focusing instead on the sensory landscape of intimacy and vulnerability.

Inspiration: Originally written as a response to a writing prompt years ago, this poem seeks to capture the profound warmth and joy found in another's touch and embrace. The prompt challenged me to explore how physical connection can transcend the merely physical.

Process: The central challenge was expressing intimacy with subtlety—finding language that honored the experience without becoming clinical or overly explicit. I worked through multiple drafts over several weeks, searching for the delicate balance between directness and suggestion.
